Why I built PoolChem Tracker
A few years ago, my family moved into a new house and built a pool.
I thought the hard part would be designing and building it. It turned out the real learning curve started after the water went in.
The test strips gave me numbers I did not fully understand. The pool store always seemed to recommend buying another chemical. Every YouTube video had a different opinion. I was spending money, adding chemicals, and somehow still ending up with cloudy water.
So I started tracking everything in a spreadsheet.
After a while, patterns started to emerge. I learned that water chemistry is not random. The order of adjustments matters. Stabilizer (CYA) builds up over time. Small changes today can create bigger problems weeks later. And most importantly, I learned that good pool care comes from understanding what is happening in the water, not guessing.
That spreadsheet eventually became PoolChem Tracker.
I built it because I wanted a tool that would tell me exactly what was happening, what needed attention, and how much chemical to add. Something simple enough for everyday pool owners, but accurate enough to trust.

Why privacy matters
I never liked the idea of creating an account just to use a simple tool.
When I built PoolChem Tracker, I decided to keep things as straightforward as possible. The app stores your pool data on your device and works without an internet connection.
That means no accounts, no cloud storage, and no tracking.
Your pool data belongs to you, and it stays with you.
